What's New?
School Supplies for the Scholars
All
the scholars received school supplies for the start of the new school year.
Last May 29, parents and scholars had a meeting with Kuya Joe Dean and
Coordinator Judith Enriquez. They signed contracts which stated the
policies of the Back-to-School program.
Preschool in
Montalban
A group of 10 mothers from He Cares village in Montalban conducted a summer
pre-school program. It is so touching to see these mothers hold daily

Here
Comes a Big Sister in the House
After months of praying for a big sister to take care of the household, God
answered our prayers! Gem Alvarez came into our lives at the most
appropriate time. She was a nun for 8 years but decided to purse God's
plan for her to become a lay missionary. The He Cares is indeed
blessed to have her.

Microfunding
Challenges
The summer months of April, May
and June were lean months for businesses of some mothers in the Sauyo area.
Those badly affected were sellers of packed meals and school snacks.
But with the opening of classes, these mothers will be smiling again.

Congratulations Reggie!
Reggie Valenzuela graduated from
elementary this year. He is under our care, living in the
household for over 4 years now.
Reggie
never knew that he would be able to continue and finish his
elementary because when Kuya Joe Dean found him, his regular activity
was scavenging for food.
When Kuya Joe Dean spotted him and
his younger brother Eme, he invited them to live in the He Cares
household. Since then, his dream is not just a wishful thinking
anymore! As he strived to study well, he even graduated with 2
medals, Best in Arts and his being top 6 in his class.
Good work Reggie we are proud of
you!

Last but not least, we
congratulate Christian Maritana
He was still very young when we
found him. He has been living in the household for over 4 years now.

He was quite blessed when one time,
our Canadian volunteer lived with them 3 years ago and discovered how
bright he was.
He was so inspired to hear Ian say
that one day he would like to become a doctor. Through this man's
generosity he sponsored him since then to study in a private school.
We pray that one day that dream
will come true Ian!
