Devoted Doctoras

Two lady doctors have been graciously serving our kids in Montalban and Quezon city.  The He Cares Village in Rizal, Montalban is visited by Dra. Fatima Caguete every other Wednesday.  She spends the whole afternoon checking up over 100 kids and adults. 

Thanks to Otsuda Clinic who put up a clinic in the village last year and provided for all the basic equipment.  Here at the Center, Dra. Karen Capuz who is an EENT specialist, holds her clinic with our kids every last Friday of the month.  Last September 11, she held a special lecture on First Aid Treatment of burns, cuts/scrapes, poisoning, allergies, etc.

I first learned of He Cares from my son’s pre-school when they had a Christmas activity for the foundation last year. What actually caught my attention was the foundation’s program to help support the education of street children.

I fully believe in their vision of giving these children a chance to become happy and productive adults and, in time, be able to share God’s love to others too.

One way to achieve this is through education. I know that for a fact, as I myself am a recipient of financial support from a generous benefactor for my medical education.  And helping others succeed by supporting their education is just my way of giving back to our Creator and thanking Him for all the miracles that have happened in my life.

I have then pledged to sponsor a street child’s (Jason) education in June 2009. I could only sponsor 1 at this point, as I am now also a benefactor for the education of some kin.  But I wanted to give more than financial support to these children. I realized that the other thing that I can give that will not cost me anything other than my time and my commitment is my service to the foundation as a doctor.

It is really not much, but it is my hope that in my own small way, I can help serve God’s children and share His love to them and those who serve Him.

The visits that I have had with He Cares in the past few months have been truly enriching and I am sincerely looking forward to being of service to the foundation in whatever capacity I am needed.
