We
at He Cares Foundation want to give the street children a chance!
Children
today have so many tools to succeed. It's easier to do
research online and have the world's storehouse of knowledge
at your feet! But there are those without the resources
to access all this information - and don't have the support
of the loving family that has enough time to help them through.
Many
of the He Cares children face so many tough obstacles to learning.
Since many of them come from underprivileged families, their
parents, if one or both of them is around, were not educated
as well - and even discourage their children from studying -
as if their future was already doomed.
They
hardly ever just "study". They need to fend
for themselves by begging, so it's tough to make that choice
to go to school every day. They would rather try to earn
a living off the streets where they are put in harm's way.
A
tutor's role not only provides the child with the much needed
academic support but the moral encouragement he needs to keep
up with other children who have all the tools.
A
tutor not only teaches but primarily becomes a friend to the
child - and ultimately, a sign of a world that still cares.
