Benefit Concert for He Cares by Convergys UP Techno Hub. A Success
by Jerine Angulo of Convergys Philippines

Convergys UP Science Site gathered four (4) of the local indie and well-respected bands in the music industry, and last May 29. Employees witnessed an eclectic synthesis of music performed by Feen, Paramita, Juan Pablo dream, and Up Dharma Down. The summer concert dubbed as Hypomania was held at the UP Techno Hub, Fountain Area and was hosted by RX 93.1's DJ Francesca.

The Employee Engagement Team partnered with He Cares Foundation, a non-profit group that helps poor street children in Metro Manila wherein they provide basic needs like food, clothing, education, and medical assistance, as well as spiritual support. This project intends to sustain and strengthen the value of Corporate Citizenship to all Convergys employees by donating school supplies to the Balik-Aral program of this organization. Special thanks to the Resource Unit (RU) and Business Unit (BU) Heads for giving their 100% support in this initiative. As of today, the team has received 557 ball pens, 870 pencils, 526 notebooks, 125 plastic envelopes, and assorted school supplies and art materials.

Everyone was entertained when a group of kids from He Cares Foundation performed a dance number. Although it was raining that night, the excitement of the crowd was doubled during the performances from AT&T U-verse and Comcast. All those who shared their talents in dancing and singing were truly outstanding. The wide variety of artists, as well as the overflowing food, drinks, and other freebies made the Hypomania Concert a successful and gigantic event for 2009.
