A 6-part series entitled “How the Light of
Jesus will Change Your Life” was started mid year during the regular prayer
meetings at the Center for the months of July and August. The 6th and last
talk called “24 Building Blocks to Victorious Living is sked for September.
The
series which is directed to the parents and the youth has been causing
tremendous changes in people’s lives. For instance, one mother shared that she
was encouraged not to give up even if she only receives P30/day wage with three
mouths to feed. She said, “Hindi ako humihinto basta mabuhay kaming mag-iina.
Lalong nabubuo ang pag-asa at lakas sapagkat may Diyos na nagmamahal sa amin.”
(I won't stop working just so we can survive. My faith, hope and strength all
the more deepens because I know there is a loving God.)
Another mother shared that she no longer has the burning desire to seek revenge
for the murder of her brother. In fact, she has been telling her family to
forgive the killer and surrender everything to God. Many more mothers have
shared about the gift of healing as they prayed over the sick members of their
family.
Area Coordinator’s
Meetings
On our once-a-month meeting with the 25 coordinators in each area, we have
adapted a 30-day recollection on “Living my Life as Though It Were My Last 30
Days”. With the encouragement of Bro. Bo Sanchez in his talks, we have obtained
copies and gave “ the 30 days booklets” to our 25 coordinators and instructed
them to live the next 30 days as though they were their last 30 days.
It has been a very meaningful time for all the leaders/coordinators as they
reflect, prayerfully answered the questions and later on shared about these
things.
Children’s Ministry
Every Saturday, children aged 13 and below gather from all the depressed areas
we minister for our weekly gathering and party. The first portion of the
gathering is for spiritual nourishment.
During 2nd Saturdays, we hold a mass. On other Saturdays, we conduct short
story-telling centered on character-formation like “You are Special” or “Why
Obey?", adapted from the Mustard Seed Magazine of LOJ (Light of Jesus
Community). On other Saturdays, we conduct Quiz Bees about the 7 Sacraments and
other Catholic Catechism topics.
Regular Counseling
Another blessing for the household for girls and boys is the regular counseling.
Three counselors from (LOJ) Light of Jesus Counseling Center have signed up to
do outreach counseling at He Cares.
