We
Moved!
The He Cares Caring Center was officially transferred to its new
location in Project 8. The place is bigger now complete with a
work area.
The
new place also has a small area for feeding and meeting the kids.
We also want to thank and give credit to the University of the
Philippines School of Interior Design for all the help they did in
fixing up the place!
As the kids grow in
size and number, we will be needing a more ideal feeding area so we
are still setting our sites on a place nearer Project 6, Quezon
City, where many of our attendees are. If you know of a good
place, let us know!

Thanksgiving Dinner
It was a night to remember last January 30 when at least 80 friends
and supporters of the foundation met up for a simple yet filling
dinner at the residence of one of our loyal, longtime He Cares
volunteers Honey.
Guests were warmly
welcomed by a rousing musical number from the Boy's Household.
This was followed up by a brief presentation on the sobering poverty
situation in Philippines. He Cares founder and missionary Bro.
Joe Dean Sola shared about his dramatic personal conversion into a
life with Christ at its center and the radical call for him to
witness to the poor.
The powerful message
of hope through Christ's work in He Cares was also imparted by the
sharings of full-time Balik-Aral coordinator Judith, Papemelroti's
Patsy Paterno and supporter Lito Fider.
Growing in the Light
Ongoing: Regular Prayer Meetings in Montalban every 2nd and 4th
Sundays of the month and in Quezon City every 2nd and 4th
Wednesdays.

Last Feb. 18, we allotted a whole day for a "Growing in the Light"
Seminar in the He Cares Village in Montalban. At least 80
participants came.
Guest speakers were Sis.
Patsy, Sis. Meldy and Bro. Luigi from the Ligaya ng Panginoon
Community along with full-time servant speakers like Bro. Joe Dean,
Bro. Mike, Sis. Brenda and Sis. Judith.
The participants responded well. The group sharing was supported by
trained leader mothers from Quezon City and Montalban. The seminar
ended at around 5pm.

Our Boys in the Top
Ten!
We're so happy to share that the household boys are doing well in
school and were included in the top 10 in their class!
Emil is
the newest youth in the household. Bro. Joe Dean noticed him in one
of his street visit and learned about his involvement in a
riot with another group of street teenagers.
He then
talked to him and was convinced to stay and try to live a normal
life in the household for the boys.
Now, in
his 3rd week, he now enjoys being a normal teenager having a nice
bed to sleep, having a good complete meal and enjoying his time to
relax and have fun with the other boys. His formation in the
household helps him understand the love and goodness of God.
*The sponsored He Cares students cannot succeed in school without the
dedicated volunteer tutors we have had through the years. Many
of these kids do not have the privileges and resources other
children have. Volunteer as a child tutor today!

The good news is that we have new projects such as die-cutting,
message-in-a-bottle, keychains and head bands. Workers are not only
limited in jewelry-making but their skills are also expanding.

Straight from the Metalwork shop
Right now, we have 5 orders for the modified oven made by Mike. The
oven is ideal for those who would like to try their own bakery.
The oven is a space
saver as it measures only 24 X 18 inches and is intended for
families with a small space but wants to try their own business.
(see side column for a picture of the oven).
If you have a livelihood skill you want to share with the He Cares
kids and families, please contact us!
*Now you can support
He Cares Kids and their families by purchasing and promoting
products and services from the He Cares workshop!

He Cares for the Leaders Too!
The He Cares leaders were recently blessed with much needed strength
and refreshment for their day to day challenges of their work.
Last Feb. 4-22, they attended the Feast with the Light of Jesus
Community at Teatro Aguinaldo.
Afterwards, the group had
lunch at the Wildlife Nature Park followed by a talk by Bro. Joe
Dean. The group ended with a time of sharing. This is
the start of the monthly Caring Group Heads Character and Spiritual
Formation.

A Meaningful Valentines at He Cares
"Ate"
(Sis.) Brenda Deyto, devoted He Cares worker, hosted a special party
last Feb. 14 for the parents of the He Cares kids.
They
enjoyed playing games even if surprisingly, only a few wives brought
their husbands with them. They feasted on finger foods like
hotdog and marshmallows, french fries, biscuits, cheese sticks and
juice. To make it more romantic flowers and candles for each
table was set by Mike.
